Maple Corner Community Store is hiring!

Assistant Manager: Assists general manager with all aspects of day to day management of the business and employees; product ordering, general upkeep of the store (customer service, stocking product), and store marketing.  The job is 30-40 hours per week with hours variable depending on the season and staffing needs. Roughly 80% of work hours will be dedicated to work in the store and 20% hours a week on other responsibilities including assisting with writing and distributing the weekly e-newsletter, maintaining and updating the store website and social media, and assisting marketing committee with sales strategies and community outreach.  Pay is $15-$18 / hour depending on experience.

Part of the mission of the Maple Corner Community Store and Whammy Bar is to create well-paying, steady employment opportunities. The only position we are currently hiring for is the Assistant Manager, but below are descriptions two other positions that may come available.

  1. Approximately 25 hours per week. Kitchen/store staff position. Works well with others, enjoys interacting with wide range of customers, quick learner, takes responsibility, eager to learn new skills, enjoys working as part of a team, can work independently to manage store. Experience as a cook, e.g. prepare sandwiches, make soup, run the pizza oven. Flexible schedule, must work weekends. Be a part of a groundbreaking community project in its early stages, and enjoy local live music at the Whammy Bar.
  2. Three to six hours per week. Previous experience helpful but not required. Support person for Whammy bar kitchen shift. Stocking shelves, working the register, help in the kitchen, answering phones. This is a great position for someone’s first job or for someone who is looking for a little extra supplemental work.

Both positions require good customer service skills – welcoming and friendly to all who come through the door.
